A dramatic report claiming that Drew Quartermaine’s final scene on General Hospital has already been completed is certain to get attention. The story describes Drew leaving in disbelief, supposedly bringing his long and turbulent run in Port Charles to an end.

There is one major problem: the latest General Hospital storyline does not support that conclusion.

The Drew “Final Scene” Report Makes a Huge Claim

The original report states that General Hospital has “officially declared” Drew’s storyline finished and portrays his departure as the closing of an important chapter for the soap. It even suggests that his exit will create room for new characters and storylines.

Those statements would point to a major cast departure involving Cameron Mathison, who has portrayed Drew since 2021.

However, the report does not provide an announcement from ABC, Mathison, or a named General Hospital representative confirming that his final scenes have actually been filmed.

That distinction matters.

General Hospital Is Still Putting Drew in the Middle of Major Drama

As recently as the September 4 storyline coverage, Drew remained actively involved in Port Charles drama. He was connected to the fallout from Jack Brennan’s death and was attempting to frame Nina by planting evidence tied to the murder.

That makes the idea of a confirmed, completed Drew exit much harder to accept without stronger evidence.

This is not the first time viewers have encountered reports suggesting Cameron Mathison is leaving General Hospital.

In January 2026, Soap Opera Digest specifically addressed another wave of Drew exit rumors and reported that claims about Mathison leaving the soap were inaccurate at that time. The outlet noted that misinformation circulating through search results had incorrectly presented his departure as confirmed.

Months later, Drew remains on screen.

That history makes caution especially important whenever a new “final scene” report appears without direct confirmation.

Drew Has Plenty of Story Left to Explode

Drew is hardly positioned like a character quietly heading toward the exit.

His marriage to Willow collapsed after months of betrayal, manipulation and violence. By late July, their relationship had ended through a bitter divorce agreement after Drew recovered enough to confront her directly.

Now Brennan’s death has created another potential disaster.

Drew has accumulated enemies and damaged relationships across Port Charles, which means the writers certainly could be building toward his downfall. But a character approaching a reckoning is not automatically a character leaving the show.

Those are two very different conclusions.

Drew’s Real Ending May Still Be Ahead

The most intriguing part of this rumor is not that Drew has definitely left General Hospital. Current evidence does not establish that.

It is that his story has reached a place where an exit suddenly feels believable.

Drew has survived a shooting, Willow’s attempt to incapacitate him, Nina pushing his wheelchair into the lake, the destruction of his marriage, and now involvement in the aftermath of Brennan’s death.

Port Charles keeps giving him another crisis instead of a goodbye.

For viewers who have been waiting for Drew to finally face consequences, that may be the bigger clue: his story appears to be moving toward a reckoning, but there is still no reliable confirmation that Cameron Mathison has filmed Drew’s final scene.
