For good measure, they also added a line of clapping hands emojis. The post came with a poster pic of Alley Mills who, GH fans agreed, looked stunning. Naturally, plenty of soap opera fans reacted to the post.

Reactions & Congratulations Poured In

ABC fans lost no time arriving with their opinions on the win for the real-life Heather Webber.  One of them penned, “MUCH congratulations to her!!! Loved her touching speech.”

In her acceptance speech, Alley Mills talked about her late husband, Orson Bean, saying, “I just got to give him love.” Additionally, she said how much she missed him.

Also, she said something most folks can agree with. She said that “We’re living in really dark times right now. Everything’s crazy.” So, she asked the audience to “keep our spirits high.”

The Lethbridge Herald also cited her as saying that Heather Webber was “the smartest card in the deck” on General Hospital. Additionally, the actress expressed her genuine “surprise” at winning the award.

People Respond To The Surprise

On X, apart from the congratulations, other fans also revealed that they felt surprised as well. Possibly because the last time that Alley appeared on the show as Heather was back in October last year. Notably, she already received honors for her role back in 2023.

One puzzled GH fan wrote, “She’s good but she hasn’t been on screen forever! I’m confused.”

Meanwhile, another follower penned, “Linden Ashby as ‘Cameron Kirsten’ from #YR should have won. Alley Mills already won this award!”

And then came the serious critics, with one opinion reading:

Can’t stand the character and the scenery chewing. Plus the favoritism didn’t do her any favors. The ridiculous rewrite was stupid and not necessary since she left right after anyway.

Still, the majority of comments were congratulatory in nature. Here are some of them:

  • Amazing. Congratulations.
  • She plays a great roll and amazing performance.
  • She owns this role.
  • Congratulations! Well deserved.
