One More Time Before I Die: Thomas Markle break down in Tears as He makes heartfelt plea to Meghan Markle after denying she reached out

Thomas Markle has made a heartfelt plea to see Meghan Markle after undergoing life-saving surgery.

It was revealed on Wednesday that Mr Markle had been rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery after being taken ill at home.

Meghan has been estranged from her father since her 2018 wedding to Prince Harry.

However, a spokesman for the Sussexes said: “I can confirm she has reached out to her father.

But Mr Markle, 71, has now said he has not heard from the Duchess of Sussex.

He said: “Of course I want to speak to her but I am not sure if these are the right circumstances.

I’ve always said I am open to reconciling with my daughter. I have never stopped loving her. I don’t want to die estranged from Meghan. I want to meet my grandkids. It might be nice to meet her husband, too.”

He went on to say: “The nurses have told me that people around the world are praying for me and I want to say thank you for those well-wishes.

“People are so kind. I’ve been out of it all week but am finally feeling more like myself and I would like to show people I’m okay.

“I’m grateful to the wonderful medical team who saved my life.

“They’ve told me I will be in hospital for at least another week or two and then I have to go to a rehab centre to learn to walk again. I am not sure how I feel about that.

They say you can feel a phantom limb when you lose a leg and I can feel it. I don’t know if I will be able to cope with this.

I have always been a very independent man. I don’t like the idea of spending the rest of my life in a wheelchair.

“I have been waking up in the middle of the night and worrying about it. I’m grateful to be alive. But living without a leg is a tough prospect. I’m worried,” he told the Mail.

Mr Markle said he was “confused” by reports that Meghan had reached out.

Nurses on the ward confirmed there had been no calls from the Duchess of Sussex or any members of their staff, according to The Daily Mail.

It is understood that Meghan had sent her father an email; however, it went to an email address that Mr Markle has not used in the last five years.

Mr Markle’s phone has no messages or voicemail from her. He has never changed his number because he ”always wanted Meg to be able to call me.

The 81-year-old concluded to The Mail: “I’m grateful to still be alive.

“But I wanted to say a big thank you to the well-wishers and also to the fantastic medical staff. I really want to say ‘thank you’ to the people of the UK who have been so kind to me.

“I’m an old man now but my life has been saved and I’m grateful for that. I have a long road ahead.
