Nick’s Fatal Flaw In His Plan To Save Sharon On Young and the Restless December 6

Has anyone considered doing this instead?

Young and the Restless December 5 Nick with the Soap Hub logo.Nick isn’t going about this the right way.

Nick has made it his mission in life to personally save Sharon from going to prison on The Young and the Restless. On the December 6 episode, he told Michael about his plan (spoiler alert: the lawyer wasn’t happy) and warned Adam to avoid their mutual ex. On the December 5 episode, he gave Chance some pills to analyze to prove that Sharon wasn’t in her right mind when she reportedly killed Sharon. There are many, many things wrong with this plan. Let us count the ways. And then let us suggest one thing he could do, which no one seems to have done yet.

Proof is in the Pills

So…here is Nick’s (Joshua Morrow) clever plan: He fished some of Sharon’s (Sharon Case) prescription out of the garbage and gave them to Chance (Conner Floyd) to give to the police lab so they can analyze them and see if they could be what drove Sharon over the edge and into a presumed killing frenzy.

Chance first balked at doing as Nick asked but eventually agreed, thanks to his warm feelings for Sharon. Chance, it seems, has forgotten all of his police training.

Proof of a Poisoned Tree

Surely, somewhere during his police academy days or while at spy school, Chance heard about something called a chain of evidence? What proof does Nick have that these are, in fact, Sharon’s pills? What proof does Chance have that these are the pills Sharon’s doctor prescribed and not ones Nick swapped in to make it seem like they were dangerous?

Just because they are in a bottle with Sharon’s name on it doesn’t mean Nick gave Chance the original bottle with the original pills that her original doctor prescribed and her original pharmacist filled. You don’t need a great prosecuting attorney to punch holes in this story. An elementary school debater who watched a lot of Law & Order could get the job done.

Physical Evidence

Meanwhile, as Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) continues to say that Sharon is the one who ran her off the road — even as she clearly remembers that it wasn’t her nemesis, has anyone from the GCPD bothered to check Sharon’s car? Are there dents in it? A scratch? Any suggestion that it was recently involved in…anything? You’d think that would be step one. You would be wrong.
