Eustace Conway, one of the stars of the reality TV series “Mountain Men,” has captivated audiences with his rugged lifestyle and deep connection to nature. Born in 1961 in Columbia, South Carolina, Conway developed a profound passion for the natural world from a young age, nurtured by his environmentally conscious parents. At 17, he left urban life to live in the woods, committing to a self-sufficient lifestyle. With a Bachelor’s degree in anthropology and English from Appalachian State University, Conway combined academic knowledge and practical skills to establish Turtle Island Preserve in 1987.
