In the pursuit of Gold, Parker Schnabel is venturing farther than ever before
As the availability of gold continues to decrease, Parker Schnabel, a character from the television show Gold Rush, takes a risk by venturing more than 7,000 miles away from his home in Alaska in the hopes of achieving his next gold mining victory.
Parker Schnabel, who is 27 years old, is willing to go to whatever extent necessary to achieve his goals, and when it comes to gold, he is even more willing to be adventurous. Now, Parker and his companions are making their way to New Zealand, a country that is known for its sharks, hobbits, large amounts of gold, and cutting-edge mining equipment.
GOLD RUSH: PARKER’S TRAIL will premiere on Discovery on Friday, June 17 at 8 p.m. Eastern Time and Pacific Time, and it will also be available to stream on Discovery+.
During the course of his journey, 27-year-old Parker Schnabel takes his buddies along with him to the realm of sharks, hobbits, big gold, and groundbreaking mining equipment. Additionally, he travels further than he has ever traveled before in his pursuit for gold. As of this coming Friday, June 17, GOLD RUSH: PARKER’S TRAIL will be available on Discovery and Discovery.
The pursuit of gold is as competitive as it has ever been, and in order to achieve success, every miner needs to have a competitive advantage. Parker and his crew travel deep into the wilderness of New Zealand in order to explore and meet with the specialists who are capable of elevating Parker’s mining business to the next level. Parker’s sights are set on his upcoming mining season.
Parker is doubling down with a roughly $200,000 investment of his own gold on a Fairbanks property in Alaska, his home state, following an incredible season in the Yukon that brought him $15 million during the course of the year. He has a sneaking suspicion that there is a significant amount of money to be made from the ground, but before he can get any of it, he will have to locate the specific machinery that is required to process the clay-rich ground. It is a cutting-edge washing facility that he requires and he is in need of… And in order to locate it, he is going to be traveling all over the world.
Parker is determined to learn as much as he can from the clandestine mining groups in New Zealand, which are not so quick to extend a helpful hand to a fellow rival. New Zealand is home to some of the most creative miners in the world.
As someone who is never one to back down from a challenge, Parker also sets out to climb Franz Josef Glacier, discover the origin of New Zealand’s famous West Coast Gold, and jet down the Kokatahi River. Nevertheless, the most difficult test of all will be for Parker to confront his phobias by participating in a gold prospecting dive with sharks.
