Donald Trump says he doesn’t need Arlington National Cemetery publicity

Former President Donald Trump has addressed the controversy surrounding his campaign’s recent visit to Arlington National Cemetery, defending his actions amid a flurry of criticism. Trump contends that he already garners substantial publicity and does not need additional attention from the cemetery visit, countering suggestions that his campaign was seeking to exploit the solemn setting for political gain.

CBS News political reporter Zach Hudak has labeled the incident as an “unforced error” for the Trump campaign, highlighting how it has placed the campaign in a challenging position. In response, the Harris-Walz campaign has seized the opportunity to mock Trump, issuing statements that lampoon the incident and his political maneuvers at the cemetery.

As the Trump campaign navigates this fallout, Trump has no campaign events scheduled for Labor Day. However, he plans to make a notable appearance later in the week with a Fox News town hall in Pennsylvania, where he is expected to address both his supporters and critics.
