Mandy Hansen, daughter of Captain Sig Hansen of the Northwestern fishing vessel, is carving out her own legacy on the treacherous waters of the Bering Sea. Born in Norway in 1996, Mandy was adopted by Sig and his wife June and raised in the United States. From a young age, she embraced fishing and boating, showing a passion and aptitude for the maritime world.
After graduating from Washington State University, Mandy pursued further maritime education in San Diego. This advanced training equipped her with the skills to lead a vessel and manage the myriad challenges that arise on the boat. Her education and hands-on experience have earned her respect and recognition in the male-dominated fishing industry.
Mandy’s husband, Clark Peterson, also shares her passion for the sea. A member of the “Deadliest Catch” cast, Clark began his maritime career with the Shaver Transportation Company. Together, Mandy and Clark form a dynamic duo, navigating the perils of the sea with resilience, tenacity, and an unwavering work ethic.
