Bold and Beautiful – Where Fashion and Scandal go hand in hand
What Is Bold & Beautiful About?
Set in the City of Angels, Los Angeles, CA., Bold & Beautiful centers around the wealthy Forresters, who happen to run one of the biggest fashion houses in the world, Forrester Creations, as well as the Spencers, with “Dollar Bill” (Don Diamont) at the helm of Spencer Publications. When the family members aren’t busy designing the latest clothing line or deciding what to put on the cover of their magazine, they’re entangled in affairs and rivalries, all protecting their families no matter what the cost.
Speaking of which… There is no storage of villains and, since the cast is smaller than other soaps, affairs often spill over family lines and Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) has bedded most of the Forrester men, from patriarch Eric (John McCook) down to his sons Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) and Thorne (Winsor Harmon) — heck, she even slept with and had a child with daughter Bridget’s (Ashley Jones) husband Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan).
What Are the Stories Like?
Even though the characters are some of the best dressed in soaps, due to their eye on fashion, they’re often caught up in steamy love affairs, which lead to scandal and most certainly betrayal. Family in-fighting over who’s the best designer at Forrester, or who’s most qualified to run the fashion house, always seems to be an issue. Crimes are committed and covered up by the rich and not-so rich, and old family rivalries echo through the generations — and anyone caught in the line of fire had best watch out!
Who Is in Bold & Beautiful?
While the show started out with Eric (John McCook) and Stephanie Forrester (Susan Flannery) front and center, one can’t talk about The Bold and the Beautiful without thinking of Ridge and Brooke — or Taylor Hayes (Rebecca Budig), who was one-third of the show’s biggest love triangle for years. Of course, there are grown children produced from that said triangle, like Steffy and Thomas Forrester, as well as Hope Logan — and more. Then there’s Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown), who has terrorized most everyone — and has come back from the dead a time or two or three or… — and Deacon, Hope’s father, and the Spencers, Bill and his sons Liam (Scott Clifton) and Wyatt (Darin Brooks).
Though Heather Tom made a name for herself in soaps playing Victoria Newman on Young & Restless, she’s been a mainstay on Bold & Beautiful as Katie Logan since 2007. Hallmark superstar Jack Wagner, known for playing Frisco on General Hospital, also crossed over from his original soap and made the role Nick Marone just as popular.
