Amanda Setton REVEALS the Truth About Working with General Hospital’s Alexa Havins

Amanda Setton enjoys sharing the screen with Alexa Havins and feels their characters’ confrontations have brought Brook Lynn’s sass back.

Brook Lynn’s drama has heated up on General Hospital. Not only are she and Chase unable to have a child, it’s brought up memories about the kid she gave up for adoption when she was a teen. To make matters worse, Lois blabbed everything to Martin — including the secret that Dante is the father and the baby grew up to be Gio — and Lulu found his notes on the matter. Lulu later had a major confrontation with BLQ because she believed Dante should know about his son. Brook Lynn’s portrayer, Amanda Setton, opened up about being scene partners with Lulu’s Alexa Havins.

A Formidable Opponent

Setton recently spoke with Soap Opera Digest about all the juicy drama in Brook Lynn’s latest storyline. She was asked if she liked having Brook Lynn clash with Lulu and happily remarked, “Oh, my gosh, I love Alexa. We are having the best time together. She is such an incredible addition to the team, to the cast, to the canvas, to Port Charles, and honestly, I couldn’t be happier to have her here.”

Setton enjoys her friendship with Havins as well as acting opposite her, describing Lulu as “a formidable opponent.” The other element that Setton enjoyed was that the various confrontations between the two women brought Brook Lynn’s sassy nature back. She felt that BLQ had been focused on family and her pregnancy drama with Chase (Josh Swickard), and it was nice to see some past elements of her personality return to the forefront.

The Truth Could Blow Up Lives

When Lulu confronted her with the information about Dante (Dominic Zamprogna), Setton felt her character ran the gamut of emotions, praising her scenes with Havins as “The most gratifying scenes I’ve maybe ever had in my career.” She cited that Brook Lynn’s reaction encompassed everything from fear to anger to being defensive. “There were just so many emotions at play that I hope the viewers were able to tap into because it wasn’t just one thing.”

She also pointed out the irony in the fact that Brook Lynn and Lulu are essentially enemies. Yet BLQ was able to reveal her innermost thoughts during their conflict. “For Brook Lynn to be so vulnerable in front of this enemy was really, really tough,” she explained. Setton further noted that Brook Lynn fears if the truth were to become public knowledge, her whole life and the lives of others would be blown to smithereens.
