According to the source script, Brennan was later written out when the character was declared dead, and McKenna has spoken publicly about how painful losing the job was.

During an appearance on Stone Cold and the Jackal, hosted by Steve Burton and Bradford Anderson, McKenna reportedly explained that being let go carried more weight now because he is a father.

Jack Brennan’s Death Has Created a Bigger Mystery
