Just In: Princess Anne shocking confrontation with Fergie after scandal revealed

Princess Anne is known to take a no-nonsense approach and is not the one to sugar-coat her remarks for anyone, even if it is her brother King Charles.

The Princess Royal’s advice and opinions hold great value to the Firm and to the royal members, but her patience was truly tested by Sarah Ferguson where she almost lost it.

The 75-year-old royal has earned the reputation of not just being the hardest working royal around but also for honouring tradition and upholding values for the continuation of the monarchy. Hence, when Andrew’s ex-wife shocking scandal emerged, Anne nearly lunged at her for the disgrace that made headlines, describes royal biographer Andrew Lownie.

In the early 90s, as Sarah and Andrew had separated, the mother of Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie faced her first major scandal as she was photographed with American ‘financial advisor’ John Bryan in the South of France.

The indecent images were slapped on the newspapers in 1992 and the reaction inside Palace doors was nothing less than fury. Lownie revealed that Anne did not hold back in giving her piece of mind about the controversy.

“She entered the breakfast room to find everyone reading the story and fled,” Lownie wrote. “One person, who was present, told the duchess’s biographer Chris Hutchins that the Princess Royal ‘came close to throttling’ Sarah, and at dinner told her what she thought of her: ‘There was not one voice raised against Anne.”

Lownie shared that Andrew’s anger “melted into sadness and he buried himself in the special reports compiled for the Queen, which she did not hesitate to let him read”.

However, it was not the end of the controversies for Sarah nor Andrew. The slew of scandals has followed them to this day and have finally caught up, leaving the ex-couple stripped off of all royal honours and privileges.
