Just In: Palace shares King Charles historic video message with heartbreaking truth
Buckingham Palace has reshared King Charles III’s iconic video message to highlight the monarch’s decades-long commitment to environmental advocacy and how this vision inspires others to discuss climate action and solutions.
The clip highlights a 2023 project that revisited compelling lines from the monarch’s past speeches. It also features renowned actors like Idris Elba, Woody Harrelson, Glenn Close, and Olivia Colman.
The royal family and RE:TV jointly shared the the video with the core message, expressing the hope that COP30 will be a turning point and marking significant progress in climate action.
The video was accompanied with a note: ‘As COP30 begins in Brazil,here at RE:TV we are reminded of our founder’s longstanding commitment to speaking up for the planet.’
It continued, ‘When he was Prince of Wales, our founder His Majesty King Charles III made dozens of speeches highlighting the importance – and urgency – of protecting the natural world.
The monarch and actors came together to save the planet, ‘They span 50 years, but their messages still ring true today. In 2023, we revisited some of the most compelling lines from these speeches with the help of a cast including Idris Elba, Woody Harrelson, Glenn Close, and Olivia Colman.’
It concluded, ‘The King’s vision of a sustainable future inspires every’thing we do at RE:TV. It is our hope that when we look back at COP30.
On Thursday, November 6, Prince William delivered a key speech on behalf of his father King Charles at the COP30 UN climate conference in Belem, where the world leaders met to discuss Climate change.
William’s attended the conference after spending three busiest days in Rio de Janeiro, where he announced his Earthshot Prize 2025 awards on November 5.
