Soap opera fans are eagerly awaiting the 52nd annual Daytime Emmy Awards to see which of their favorite soaps and actors will walk away with accolades. With the event being pushed into the fall in a shift away from the previous May/June schedule, viewers have had to wait longer than usual to see the stars and teams behind the shows being honored. But the wait is nearly over. The ceremony will air Friday, October 17 at 4 p.m. PT/7 p.m. ET on watch.theemmys.tv/daytime.

A new category is making its debut during the 52nd Daytime Emmys: the Outstanding Emerging Talent award, replacing the Outstanding Young Performer award.
